Becoming a Community Leader

Become A Community Leader

If you have been in need, you know how important it is to find a place where you can get help that is genuine, friendly and affirming.   Treating others with respect and dignity is so important.

Part of human dignity is sharing.  When you are given an opportunity to give back, to share, and to work for a better community for others, you feel valuable as a person.  This is a gift that we give to each other.

You probably came here first out of your needs.  Now you have given back through your service.  You have volunteered to help us help others.

It is time now for you to become a community leader, who will help other people meet their needs, give back to the community and grow as persons.

Welcome to

Community Leadership Training!

How Community Leadership Training Works

Since you began working at Hedding as a volunteer, you have been completing community service, demonstrating your abilities and the places you need to grow.  We are eager to help you become a leader by working with you on leadership skills and inner strength.

In addition to training you in how to do the community service work you have been doing, we would like to invite you to begin a class group that will help you grow inside and in relationships with people so that you become a good leader.

You will meet together in group once a week with a Leadership Guide who will invite you to tell about your community service experience, and then work with you in the group on understanding more deeply your role as a leader.  Part of this will be helping you develop a stronger relationship with God.  Part will be in understanding yourself and others.  Your homework is paying attention to these things through the coming week.
