SUNDAY WORSHIP
Each Sunday, worship is held starting at 10am.
We begin with praise to God through Jesus Christ. We listen to holy scripture. We explore God’s plan for us in the Pastor’s sermon. We pray together for one another, our community and world, seeking the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and life together. We offer ourselves to God and make confession of sins, and receive the assurance of forgiveness in preparation for Eucharist (Communion) each week. On occasion we hear the witness of Christian faith. Periodically, the children offer a drama based on scripture during worship.
We follow the Common Lectionary of readings from the Bible on most Sundays. These can be found at the tab above.
Our practice of Eucharist and Communion each week is in keeping with the teaching of the United Methodist Church, which can be found by clicking on Questions about Communion
Music
Our adult choir offers musical offerings to God each week, except during the summer. Our choir director, Charlene Helman, plans these offerings with careful attention to the Scripture for the week and the musical diversity the church has come to embrace
Children’s Choir offers musical praise once every 4-6 weeks. We have other special musical offerings from cello, clarinet, flute and vocals.
The Lord has blessed us with a fine band, which offers contemporary music before worship and during worship many weeks. We are praying for the growth of this ministry.
Our excellent key board artist, Vicki Gauthier, raises up a variety of keyboard music from baroque to contemporary each week.
Youth Services
Nursery is available for children up through age 3.
Children’s Sunday Programsare held during worship. Children return for communion. About once per month, we hold intergenerational worship.
Teens have a Bible study during the sermon.
Adult Sunday School precedes worship from 8:30-9:30am. The bible study to follow Easter will be an old testament prophet.
Healing Services
On the second Sunday of each month, we hold a special service for healing prayer at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend this service.
Sunday mornings during communion, healing prayer is offered on the front pew as folks walk forward for communion and prayer at the rail.
